Hello and Good morning from Foggy and cool Fontana–Auto Club Speedway….No JPM has not started to hunt me down for my recent Jet Drier comments…not yet anyway….
What a weekend of racing we have–and it seems the season grabs an incredible head of steam as just about every series that can race is on track this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton showed beautiful form taking pole from McLaren teammate Jenson Button and some young upstart named Michael Schumacher…. So glad to see Michael back true to 7-time WDC form. Look forward to a great race tonight! After the disappointing DNF Schumacher suffered in Australia, here’s hoping we will see the German back on the podium.
SO I am reading that the Drive4COPD Pro-Am race will feature drivers Bruce and Brody Jenner and Scott Disick…I wonder if we will see any Kardashians today–I forgot my bag of flour….
In St. Petersburg, Will Power is showing great form in the New IndyCar while Rubens Barrichello seems to be struggling with car set-up. Qualifying today and the race tomorrow. I continue to have high hopes for IndyCar this year and look forward to seeing them at Long Beach in three weeks…..
Yesterday Denny Hamlin scored his tenth career Pole position for Tomorrow’s Sprint Cup race, here, at Fontana. He scored his season’s first win in Phoenix two weeks ago….
Next weekend is the fourth installment of Legends of Riverside. The reunion of Dan Gurney and a cast of notables who drove the famous SoCal circuit will take place at the Riverside International Automotive Museum–and 150 lucky patrons will be treated to beautiful cars, great stories and Honoree Bobby Unser…. Look for live coverage of the event on Motormavens.com….
Well I’m off to chase some interesting stories and will have updates here throughout the day…
